James Miskel became MDS Pharma Services Vice President – Strategy and Corporate Development in February 2008. In this role, he identifies, evaluates, negotiates and executes acquisitions and strategic partnerships that support the growth objectives of the business.
Before joining MDS, he was at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, where he served as Assistant Vice President, Business Planning & Strategy, Technical Operations & Product Supply. Prior to his time at Wyeth, his fluency in Spanish was put to good use when he lived and worked in Buenos Aires, Argentina, as a consultant to several health and life sciences initiatives. He began his career with McKinsey & Company, progressing from Business Analyst through to Engagement Manager, and spending his last three years leading growth strategy, operational improvement, and acquisition work for leading pharmaceutical and medical device companies.
He holds a BS in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), an MS in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, an MA in International Studies from the Lauder Institute of the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA in Strategy and Operations from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
