Peter Abram joined MDS Pharma Services as Senior Vice President - Finance and Chief Financial Officer on September 6, 2005, based in the business unit’s executive offices in King of Prussia, Pa. His path to MDS has included financial leadership positions at the regional, national, and international level and participation in business expansions, turnarounds, restructurings, integrations and acquisitions.
Prior to joining MDS Pharma Services, Mr. Abram spent four years at PerkinElmer (PKI), first as the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, and ultimately as the Director of Global Sales Operations for the $1.1 billion Life & Analytical Sciences division based in Boston. In the former position, he developed strategic and operational planning processes for a $500 million business. In the latter position, he implemented new policies and procedures for control and improved productivity, including a monthly operating review process with Sales, Service and Customer Care.
Mr. Abram’s past experience also includes two years at General Electric (GE), ultimately as the Manager for Financial Planning & Reporting for a $6 billion business. He also spent five years with Aeroquip Vickers Corporation, some of it based in Singapore, where he served as Sales Controller for the Asia Pacific Region of Vickers Systems and as acting CFO during a six-month transition.
His education and training include a B.S. degree in Finance with an Accounting concentration from Ohio’s Miami University, and Six Sigma Green Belt certification earned during his time at GE. Six Sigma is a disciplined process aimed at eliminating process defects.
