MDS Pharma Services adds John H. Dillon II as Senior Vice President

(Montreal, Quebec, February 8, 2001) — MDS Pharma Services is pleased to announce the addition of John Dillon II to its executive team. Dillon will serve as a senior vice president and operate from the organization's office in Philadelphia, Pa. His immediate responsibilities will be to enhance client relationships, construct strategic partnerships, and act as a customer advocate during the drug discovery and development process.

Dillon is a senior executive with more than 35 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Before joining MDS Pharma Services, he served as a senior vice president, sales and marketing, for Accurian. His background also includes several years with IBAH, where he served first as senior vice president, corporate development, and then as executive vice president. While with IBAH, Dillon managed the functions of corporate development, worldwide business development, and worldwide marketing. He oversaw the acquisition and integration of three companies and helped IBAH establish new offices in Japan, Australia and Singapore. He also served for more than 20 years with SmithKline Beecham, ultimately holding the position of vice president and director of worldwide business development. Prior to entering the pharmaceutical industry, Dillon served four years in the Navy Medical Service Corps. Dillon's education background includes an M.B.A. from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, as well as a B.A. in history from Lafayette College.

In addition to his professional responsibilities, he has devoted time to numerous professional and civic organizations. While working with SmithKline Beecham, he also served as vice chairman and chairman of the National Pharmaceutical Council, an industry-wide body chartered to address issues of common interest to the pharmaceutical industry. For the Wharton School, Dillon served two years as president of the alumni association, and later, two years as chairman. He has also served as a member of the Dean's Advisory Board.
