MDS Pharma Services Names Pauline Gee VP of Predictive Biology
(February 17, 2003. Montreal, Canada) — MDS Pharma Services, a premier provider of innovative drug discovery and development solutions, has named Pauline Gee, Ph.D., Vice President of Predictive Biology. Dr. Gee will lead MDS Pharma Services. chemogenomics and toxicogenomics programs. She will represent the company in its alliance with Iconix Pharmaceuticals in the development of DrugMatrix., a novel chemogenomics system that enables researchers to select the highest quality leads and drug candidates at the earliest stages of drug discovery and development. Dr. Gee will serve on the Senior Management Team for MDS Pharma Services. Discovery and Preclinical Solutions business unit and will be an active member of the Collaboration Management Board that the company shares with chemogenomics alliance partner Iconix.
Before joining MDS Pharma Services, Dr. Gee was President and CEO of Xenometrix, Inc., a company that pioneered gene expression profiling to describe cellular responses to compounds. She brought Xenometrix to profitability for two years before merging the publicly traded company in 2001 with Discovery Partners International, Inc., a drug discovery company specializing in chemistry collaborations.
Dr. Gee earned a doctorate in Biochemistry from Simon Fraser University, in British Columbia, Canada and completed post-doctorate studies in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of California at Berkeley, and in Biological Sciences at Stanford University.
